The first film projections 1895

The first film made by Louis Lumière factory is output , known today under the name of The Mills Light Output . It was shot on March 19th 1895 , Lyon Saint- Victor . This street has been renamed and is now called rue du Premier- Film, it would be good to respect the historical truth , renamed " rue du Premier -Film Light" or "First - Cinematograph Film " . It is in this street stands the Institut Lumière . The first private performance of Lumière Cinematograph held in Paris March 22, 1895 in the premises of the Society for the encouragement nationale industry. In the aftermath, Louis Lumière runs during the summer of 1895 the famous gardener who later became the sprinkler watered. This is the most famous film of the Lumière brothers and the first animated photographic fictions (the first fiction film is non- Émile Reynaud photographic light Pantomimes ) .

Meanwhile the first public meeting, the Cinematograph is shown to many scientists. Success is always considerable. On June 11 the Congress of Photographers in Lyon, July 11 in Paris at the General Science Journal , November 10 before the Belgian Association of Photographers , November 16 in the amphitheater of the Sorbonne , etc. .
The first public screening of Light takes place December 28, 1895 at the Salon Indien du Grand Café Hotel Scribe, 14 boulevard des Capucines in Paris , presented by Antoine Lumière before thirty-three spectators. Charles Moisson , the manufacturer of the device, is the chief engineer , he oversees the projection. The price of the session is set to 1 franc.

The film The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat is not intended that day , but will eventually winning a huge succès .
Six months after submission of December 1895 , the first exhibition of films in America with the Lumière Cinematograph is organized by Louis Minier and Louis Pupier in Montreal (see Quebec cinema ) .
The contribution of Louis Lumière that the literary critic Ricciotto Canudo called in 1920 "7th art"  , is paramount. Her experience allows her photographer in the aesthetics of his films go further than the team Edison - Dickson. In his " photographic views lively " (as he calls his reels ) , which are the same as the first American primitivism "Movies" , however he showed a mastery of framing and light which largely explains the successful achievements. Quickly, the Lumière brothers are aware of the interest of their Cinematograph film with picturesque images of the world and show projection , or sell them with the camera. The Lumière brothers , they have the wisdom to stop producing films in 1902, when they understand that cinema is a new language which they have knowledge or rules to come or the importance of going take over the world . That does not ignore the inventor of filmmaking , Thomas Edison, who predicted that "the cinema was later one of the pillars of human culture "
